I was initially worried about learning Czech given its difficulty, but it turned out to be a really fun process, and by now I feel comfortable reading basic texts, having simpler conversations with native speakers, and watching movies in Czech with subtitles.
Karolina made sure to personalise the learning for my needs and interests: which topics to talk about, which types of exercises to have, and even what kinds of movies/articles to recommend! She is incredibly patient, very good at explanations of both grammar and everyday language use, and a very kind and friendly person in general. I get plenty of materials, we have great conversations that make me motivated to learn - and the lesson is always a highlight of my week!

"I’ve been studying with Karolina (one of the Czech tutors from SOLARIS Language School) in Prague for 3 years now and I’m fully satisfied of our collaboration.
I was looking for something more flexible and adaptable than a collective course. With Karolina, I can linger on some aspects of the Czech language that I find difficult to master and move on with things I understand more easily. She proposed me two different manuals so far that were perfectly adapted to my needs and provided me with extra documents when it was necessary.
We typically begin a 90 minute class with one hour of conversation, an exercise that I find very formative and that is impossible to get in a class with other students. During that conversation, Karolina always tries to make the discussion interesting (including with fun observation about Czech society), while addressing different points of grammar or some specific vocabulary. Then we move on to exercises or grammar. She understands the challenge for a foreigner to learn the Czech language and always tries to make comparisons with English (or Spanish), and don’t hesitate to repeat the basics (a core principle of pedagogy , if you ask me).
She’s patient and professional, flexible when it comes to have class in a café in Prague or through Skype, always punctual, very polite and well-educated. I hope I will be fluent in Czech one day (as much as it is possible…) and if I don’t, it will certainly not be Karolina’s fault! :)"
